Karina’s Gin Of The Week – Dragonfly Gin

Dragonfly Gin

Recently I had the pleasure to visit Copenhagen. A really great city with impressive architecture, beautiful alleys, great bars and delicious drinks. In our Insta-Story I posted my delicious Pink Gin with Grapefruit that I enjoyed in Nyhavn.

Unfortunately, when it was time to head back home, I came across the beautiful cans of Dragonfly Gin in Duty Free. They look so appealing already, I just had to pick some up.

I bought the classic Gin Tonic variant and the Gin Mango Cocktail. Visually already a pleasure. Drink we will the cans on the next trip, so the info on the taste comes later.

The Dragonfly Gin is produced by the Braunstein distillery in small batches. It has already won awards at the SAN FRANCISCO WORLD SPIRITS COMPETITION in 2018 and 2019. The small distillery at the port of Køge has been brewing beer and spirits since 2005. It is primarily a whisky distillery, but over the years it has also produced gin – both its own brands and other brands’ gin.

There are other varieties in addition to London Dry Gin in the distillery’s range, such as Rasberry, Plum, Rosehip, Cask and Sloe Gin.

In Copenhagen itself, there are 7 distilleries that produce gin. In 2022, 438 Danish gins were produced in Denmark. Most of them in so-called micro-distilleries.

Copenhagen is definitely worth a trip and you enjoy every second there.

With this in mind, happy wanderlust and cheers!
