Andre’s Gin Of The Week: Castle Bensberg Dry Gin

Castle Bensberg Dry Gin

The Bensberg Dry Gin pays homage to Johann Wilhelm II., popularly known as “Jan Wellem”, who had the Bensberg Castle built as a hunting lodge at the beginning of the 18th century.

A lot of Bensberg, a touch of Tuscany and above all a lot of love for his home go into this Bensberg Dry Gin. With hand-picked herbs and botanicals such as juniper, rosemary, thyme, basil, rowan berries and other local ingredients.

This inspired me to test this gin in three variations. First with a touch of Tuscany and Tassoni Tonic. But it also tastes great with Fever-Tree Indian Tonic and also with Mediterranean Tonic. As you can see, I didn’t have to go far for garnish like basil or rosemary…. If you like it fresh, you can use lemon as garnish.
