About This Gin - 1689 Dutch Pink Gin
A Legendary Pink Gin.
Other gins have a history… this one is a legend.
Gin 1689 The Queen Mary takes us on a journey back to the very origins of gin itself. In 1689, William of Orange-Nassau, a Dutchman, ascended the British throne, bringing with him his beloved juniper spirit — Genever. This marked the beginning of British gin culture.
Fast-forward over 300 years, and two gin enthusiasts stumbled upon an encrypted 17th-century gin recipe in the archives of the British Library. They partnered with the historic Herman Jansen distillery in Schiedam, Netherlands — operational since 1777 — to recreate this ancient spirit.
The Queen Mary edition lightens the strength of the original Gin 1689 Dutch Pink Gin to 38.5%, while infusing it with ripe strawberries and raspberries. The result? A nod to the first pink gins in history, blending luscious fruit aromas with the bold spice of a traditional gin base.
