Mermaid Zest Gin; Isle of Wight Distillery
Another week passed… and another gin to be introduced…
Today I present you the Mermaid Zest Gin of the Isle of Wight Distillery, located in the south of Southampton on the Isle of Wight in the English Channel.
Mermaid Zest Gin is a complex gin with a fresh citrus nose. You can smell the grapefruit, bergamot, and lemon clearly and the juniper as well. The citrus fruits match perfectly with the other botanicals like the local herbs and spices. A perfect gin for summer sundowners!
I recommend enjoying the Mermaid Zest Gin as a G&T with a Mediterranean tonic like Goldberg & Sons Mediterranean Tonic, Thomas Henry Botanical Tonic or Fever-Tree Mediterranean Tonic, garnished with a slice of fresh grapefruit and a sprig of rosemary.

In 2014 the “Isle of Wight Distillery” was founded by Xavier Baker and Conrad Gauntlett. It is the first and only distillery on the island. Their goal is to produce high quality spirits like gin, vodka and rum which are sold under the Mermaid and HMS brands.
