ORSON’S London Dry Gin
The weather here in southern Germany is glorious at the moment. 🌞
What could be better than a gin at the end of the day and the weekend is just around the corner?
Today I’m enjoying a gin from the supermarket. Newcomers often buy a gin in the supermarket first and there are also good drinkable gins there.
The Orson’s London Dry Gin is from Penny. It is produced by the Rola wine distillery and liqueur factory in Rottenburg an der Laaber. Today, the owner-managed family business is one of the most important producers of spirits in Germany.
I pour myself a sip of ORSON’S London Dry Gin and am honestly more than surprised. I perceive a distinctly round and at the same time appealing bouquet on the nose. The juniper note is subtle, but clearly recognisable with its typical tart resinous aromas.
With a slight sweetness, ORSON’S London Dry Gin gin spreads on the tongue. The juniper flavour is accompanied by fruity notes of oranges. Finally, the spicy coriander stands to the side and completes the first impression. Quite balanced.
I am surprised how good the Orson’s 42 London Dry Gin tastes neat. An ice cube even brings the juniper a little more to the fore.
In a gin & tonic, Orson’s 42 really is an all-rounder. None of its botanicals stands out extremely. Nevertheless, its bouquet embodies a classic gin. I like the discount gin best with an Indian tonic water. Today, I enjoy it with a Goldberg Tonic Water, lime and mint.
If you prefer something more Mediterranean, you can also use a Mediterranean Tonic Water.
Why don’t you also try Orson’s and write us your Perfect Serve in the Ginferno. App. Thanks 🤩
Have a great weekend!
