The Elfer Gin
This week I want to introduce you to one of my favorites gins again.
The Elfer Gin – it is named after an Austrian mountain, the ‘Elfer’ in the Kleinwalsertal.
That is where Raik, the manufacturer of this culinary delight, comes from.
I got to know him at a GINferno Tasting. There he answered in detail all questions about the production process of the gin and which tonic it tastes best with. By the way, the Elfer Gin is 3 times distilled!
It combines citrus, gentian and bloodroot and has a floral-berry note.
I liked the Elfer Gin best with the classic Mediterranean Fever Tree Tonic and dried orange. In this combination, it gets better and better with every minute, until you – almost sadly – have reached the bottom of the glass. Fortunately, Raik also had his 6 liter version of the Elfer Gin with him at the tasting 😇
Have fun with it – cheers!
